Aldo Eduino kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Mario Leocadio made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Amado Justin sent off a good shot on target. Enrique Jaen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mariano Urtats having to interfere. After 22 played minutes Union de Santa Fe got a freekick which was hit by Cecilio Cidro. After a rather tough play, Berna's Aldo Eduino got a free kick in the 31st minute. After some careless play in the Berna defense, Amado Justin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mario Leocadio. The Berna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mario Leocadio should have stopped the shot. 37 minutes into the game, Aldo Eduino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Berna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Union de Santa Fe the free kick. Union de Santa Fe's Mariano Urtats played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Jaen in the 44th minute of play.

Benedicto Dodorol charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benedicto Dodorol the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 54th minute, one of Union de Santa Fe:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Union de Santa Fe. Mariano Urtats came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Berna's Enrique Jaen. But to his dismay, Enrique Jaen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. With 77 minutes on the clock, Edgardo Nerio commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Senon in the 83rd minute of play forced Berna's goalkeeper Mario Leocadio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diego Quentin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Mariano Urtats tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 91 minutes, Virgilio Hever managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Berna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Virgilio Hever was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Berna were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
