Aurelio Castulo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camilo Itzaina having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Sportivo Cristal's zone, Agustin Joanes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jimeno Lleir came out of the goal and Agustin Joanes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Aurelio Castulo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Camilo Itzaina was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Agustin Joanes struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Jimeno Lleir didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Racing club FC. Aquiles Ipar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Cornelio Sidro took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Jimeno Lleir to make any attempt to save it. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When Aquiles Ipar came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Racing club FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aquiles Ipar couldn't finish the play. The shot was stopped by Camilo Itzaina but with some difficulty. Jose Piearres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Camilo Itzaina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zeledon Abechuco charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zeledon Abechuco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Zeledon Abechuco hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 74th match minute, Sportivo Cristal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saverio Caradaro to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sportivo Cristal's goalkeeper Jimeno Lleir, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jimeno Lleir took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aquiles Ipar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Agustin Joanes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute, Agustin Joanes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jimeno Lleir was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1.
