Santiago Martxot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lino Quinto in the 12th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atlético Talleres's zone, Hector Frichoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santiago Martxot came out of the goal and Hector Frichoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 17th minute Hector Frichoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Martxot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Santiago Martxot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cecilio Espiridion, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Santiago Martxot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hector Frichoso in the 28th minute of play. In the 46th minute Hector Frichoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Martxot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 48 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Talleres's goal looked a bit too open when Hector Frichoso came free, but Santiago Martxot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Club Atlético Talleres's defense didn't have a chance, in the 52nd minute, when Cecilio Espiridion scored to the left of an out of position Santiago Martxot, making the score, 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cecilio Espiridion in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Santiago Martxot saved Club Atlético Talleres from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maximo Vigil during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Maximo Vigil hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Cecilio Espiridion kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Santiago Martxot. That made the score 0-5 in the 83 minute of play. Club Atlético Talleres's Santiago Martxot proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético Talleres from getting a goal against them. If Hector Frichoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Maximo Vigil kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match.
