When Victor Leobardo came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the La Romaneta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victor Leobardo couldn't finish the play. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Simoca's goalkeeper Leandro Peio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Victor Leobardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leandro Peio having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Leobardo in the 22nd minute of play forced Simoca's goalkeeper Leandro Peio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Victor Leobardo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Narciso Franco came free in the 56th minute and tried to tip the ball over Santos Jon, but to the joy of La Romaneta's supporters the ball went over. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 69 minutes into the game, Ariel Baldovino recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Leandro Peio. La Romaneta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victor Leobardo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle sounded La Romaneta left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Simoca.
