The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the game, Ruperto Foro recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Anibal Menendo. Ruperto Foro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. If Ruperto Foro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Salvador Orlo made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Real Japón's zone, Jonas Rivero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anibal Menendo came out of the goal and Jonas Rivero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With an all-out effort, Real Japón's Jeronimo Bidari threw himself towards the right post 60 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Salvador Orlo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 62 minutes into the game, Cecilio Marino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Real Japón's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nortonha the free kick. Cecilio Marino hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After having played for 68 minutes, Raul Luix managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. If Martin Kaiet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Real Japón booed when Nortonha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Luix didn't get a good kick on the ball. 95 minutes into the match, Nortonha's goalkeeper Jeronimo Bidari had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leonides Dubardo. There was no doubt that Nortonha were the better team. Nortonha's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
