The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Faustino Sasoin during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ulises Natanael hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. 13 minutes into the match, Deportivo Wanchope's Damian Egun sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Urbano Pirmin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Elpidio Urbez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Urbano Pirmin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Damian Egun blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Urbano Pirmin having to make a save. Damian Egun struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Urbano Pirmin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Wanchope. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremias Tulio in the 23rd minute of play forced Deportivo Wanchope's goalkeeper Joaquin Christobal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Deportivo Wanchope's Joaquin Christobal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeremias Tulio in the 31st minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, Elpidio Urbez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Urbano Pirmin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sergio Sanchez in the 41st minute of play forced Deportivo Wanchope's goalkeeper Joaquin Christobal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 43 minutes, Damian Egun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Wanchope's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damian Egun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 46 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Deportivo Wanchope! No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When Jeremias Tulio came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Empalme AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeremias Tulio couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Empalme AFC booed when Deportivo Wanchope was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jimeno Elija didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jimeno Elija's late challenge caught a Empalme AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jimeno Elija helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Wanchope's Jimeno Elija got a free kick in the 57th minute. If Jeremias Tulio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 60 minutes, Damian Egun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Wanchope's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damian Egun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sergio Sanchez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Christobal having to interfere. Joaquin Christobal came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Empalme AFC's Sergio Sanchez. But to his dismay, Sergio Sanchez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 68 minutes into the match, Empalme AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Elpidio Urbez came free, but Urbano Pirmin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Damian Egun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Empalme AFC's Urbano Pirmin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damian Egun in the 77th minute of play. Jeremias Tulio succeeded in the game's 79th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. 83 minutes into the match, Sergio Sanchez dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Joaquin Christobal, 1-3. Isaac Millano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 94 played minutes, Deportivo Wanchope's Mateo Nataniel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Urbano Pirmin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Deportivo Wanchope reached it. Empalme AFC's Urbano Pirmin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damian Egun in the 96th minute of play. Empalme AFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
