After having played for 4 minutes, Julio Chumo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lipeo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julio Chumo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Faustino Perfecto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aaron Fernandez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Melquiades Venceslao made a huge save. Pablo Toribio was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 25th minute. Cementerio Club's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 27 played minutes Lipeo got a freekick which was hit by Higinio Veronica. After 29 played minutes, Cementerio Club's Leonardo Chale shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Melquiades Venceslao came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cementerio Club reached it. Melquiades Venceslao showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damian Roano, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After some careless play in the Cementerio Club defense, Zeledon Guillen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eduardo Jurdan. The Cementerio Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eduardo Jurdan should have stopped the shot. The Cementerio Club players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Lipeo were winning 0-1.

Pablo Toribio scored 1-1 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Melquiades Venceslao, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 60 played minutes Cementerio Club got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Fernandez. 63 minutes into the game, Leon Gaskon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lipeo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cementerio Club the free kick. A collision led to Lipeo getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Mariano Chano, 77 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Julio Chumo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eduardo Jurdan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. Zeledon Guillen came free with the goalkeeper in the 88th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Eduardo Jurdan could save by the left post. In the 93rd minute Damian Roano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melquiades Venceslao saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Despite being the better team, Lipeo failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
