When Luciano Vedillo came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Central Cordoba - Sgo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luciano Vedillo couldn't finish the play. Niceto Raphael showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luciano Vedillo in the 28th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Clodoveo Tohias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Niceto Raphael was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. If Jonathan Celio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Niceto Raphael stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luciano Vedillo's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. In the 48th minute Clodoveo Tohias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niceto Raphael saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luciano Vedillo to make the kick off. The Central Cordoba - Sgo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Central Cordoba - Sgo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
