In the 11th minute, Tomás Cresencio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 16 minutes into the match, Guañizul AFC's goalkeeper Justino Mikolas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jacinto Peyo. 0-1 became the score in the 18th minute when Ruperto Opilano elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vinicio Dodorol during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Club Atletico Tucuman getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Vinicio Dodorol hit a great ball. Ernesto Larpe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jaime Regis during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Club Atletico Tucuman booed when Guañizul AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Regis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnaldo Lapurdi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Ivan Grabiel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Ruperto Opilano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ivan Grabiel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Ruperto Opilano struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Ivan Grabiel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guañizul AFC. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arnaldo Lapurdi to strike the kick off in the second half. If Jacinto Peyo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. During the 59th minute of the match Jaime Regis completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Jaime Regis a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Jaime Regis kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Leo Joey's late challenge caught a Guañizul AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leo Joey helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st match minute, Club Atletico Tucuman was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leo Joey to maneuver through the defense. Rodolfo Beila could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Ivan Grabiel made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto Peyo in the 76th minute of play forced Guañizul AFC's goalkeeper Justino Mikolas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes into the match, Guañizul AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Leo Joey came free, but Justino Mikolas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 95 played minutes Club Atletico Tucuman got a freekick which was hit by Tomás Cresencio. The Guañizul AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
