The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Modesto Alvarez's late challenge caught a Esperanza AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Modesto Alvarez helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Esperanza AFC booed when Club Atletico Villarino was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Modesto Alvarez didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Anselmo Pelayo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Astor Aragones was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. In the 48th minute, Paolo Gartxot got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Club Atletico Villarino players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Esperanza AFC were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paolo Gartxot stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Astor Aragones was out of position in the 55 minute of play, and Paolo Gartxot capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Paolo Gartxot really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. The long shot by Cristian Luix in the 60th minute really tested Astor Aragones's skills. Ruben Galindo came out of the goal and Mariano Nabar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Club Atletico Villarino's Mariano Nabar got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hugo Natal hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The Esperanza AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
