The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Amado Nuno's late challenge caught a Resistencia FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amado Nuno helped the player get up and apologised. After 6 played minutes Monsalvo AFC got a freekick which was hit by Amado Nuno. Hugo Honesto charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hugo Honesto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 13th minute, Hugo Honesto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th minute, Hugo Honesto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Braulio Calvet was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. When Aldo Criston fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Resistencia FC's protests and gave Aldo Criston a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Resistencia FC's Aldo Criston got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Gabriel Gartzen kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Monsalvo AFC's Sixto Nafarroa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aldo Criston in the 27th minute of play. When Joel Marquez came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Resistencia FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Marquez couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aldo Criston was the one to do the kick off. Braulio Calvet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Honesto in the 59th minute of the match. When Resistencia FC's Aldo Criston in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Monsalvo AFC's goalie prevented a goal. When Aldo Criston came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Resistencia FC fans jumped to their feet. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aldo Criston in the 77th minute of play forced Monsalvo AFC's goalkeeper Sixto Nafarroa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aldo Criston had several of the Monsalvo AFC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 82 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Sixto Nafarroa as he didn't even see the shot coming. Silvestre Emeterio struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Sixto Nafarroa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Resistencia FC. In the 95th minute of the match Maximino Inocente sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Braulio Calvet skillfully saved the ball. The Monsalvo AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Resistencia FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Resistencia FC.
