The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Melquiades Raymond during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 25th minute, Ubaldo Distiratsu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When Osvaldo Fortun came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the racing club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldo Fortun couldn't finish the play. Raul Austin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cirilo Claude in the 60th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adan Salvadore in the 65th minute of play forced racing club's goalkeeper Leon Etxepare to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 67 minutes into the game, Ubaldo Elequemedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Salsipuedes AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave racing club the free kick. The Salsipuedes AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Salsipuedes AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
