Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luciano Cidro in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hilario Santos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 31st minute, Tunal's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Saul Niva fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Fausto Fernandes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without David Efren having to make a save. When Fausto Fernandes came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Club Sportivo Bahiense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fausto Fernandes couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Guillermo Matxin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Sportivo Bahiense's supporters rose to their feet, but Guillermo Matxin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Efren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Flavio Fonso hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match.
