Rodolfo Truylos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Aureliano Flor made a huge save. In the 7thth minute of the game Generoso Cordareo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GimnasiaYTiro F.C's Aureliano Flor was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Generoso Cordareo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Aureliano Flor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aureliano Flor didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rodolfo Truylos went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Generoso Cordareo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Newells De Rosario's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Generoso Cordareo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Samuel Raymon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marco Intxixu during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Newells De Rosario getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Marco Intxixu hit a great ball. Eloy Behe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Generoso Cordareo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aureliano Flor having to make a save. In the 77th minute Generoso Cordareo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aureliano Flor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rodolfo Truylos in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aureliano Flor saved GimnasiaYTiro F.C from getting behind. Newells De Rosario's Rodolfo Truylos got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Newells De Rosario's Generoso Cordareo managed to work through GimnasiaYTiro F.C's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Generoso Cordareo dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Generoso Cordareo in the 87th minute of play forced GimnasiaYTiro F.C's goalkeeper Aureliano Flor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 89 minutes of play, Newells De Rosario's Generoso Cordareo made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aureliano Flor was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rodolfo Truylos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aureliano Flor having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Generoso Cordareo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newells De Rosario's supporters rose to their feet, but Generoso Cordareo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aureliano Flor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
