The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jonatan Walme kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. In the 11th minute, Denis Beti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Selvas FC booed when Reconquista AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Astrada didn't get a good kick on the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Marcial Paez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomás Gaizko. Selvas FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcial Paez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucio Brion in the 23rd minute of play forced Selvas FC's goalkeeper Tomás Gaizko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcial Paez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomás Gaizko didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lucio Brion went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Felipillo was the one to do the kick off. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Reconquista AFC's Lucio Brion in the 54th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Tomás Gaizko was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Selvas FC through an amazing save. Julian Felipillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cayetano Marques having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, Selvas FC's Julian Felipillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cayetano Marques narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 64th match minute, Reconquista AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domingos Nuñez to maneuver through the defense. Cayetano Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denis Beti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Selvas FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Benito Abar hit a great ball. Reconquista AFC's Laureano Jesco couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 74th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Selvas FC. Selvas FC's Tomás Gaizko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucio Brion in the 76th minute of play. The supporters of Reconquista AFC booed when Selvas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benito Abar didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Lucio Brion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laureano Jesco was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 83 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute, one of Reconquista AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Reconquista AFC. Reconquista AFC:s Cayetano Marques showed great skill when he stopped Francisco Damario:s penalty. Cayetano Marques came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Selvas FC's Francisco Damario. But to his dismay, Francisco Damario quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Cayetano Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicasio Romero, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. Benito Abar kicked well hit freekick during the 99th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Selvas FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Reconquista AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
