Ovidio Tab took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Camilo Eufemio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Honorio Roano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patricio Gaur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorio Roano in the 29th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 33rd minute by Ruben Tauro got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Despedida's Wilfredo Chayo suffered a sore thigh after 34 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Angel Gumaro fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlas Fc's protests and gave Angel Gumaro a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Despedida booed when Atlas Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angel Gumaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camilo Eufemio in the 44th minute of play forced Despedida's goalkeeper Ovidio Tab to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Camilo Eufemio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Ovidio Tab tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Despedida players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Atlas Fc were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Augusto Gorbea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Atlas Fc's Camilo Eufemio got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ruben Tauro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Camilo Eufemio in the 68thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ovidio Tab, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Camilo Eufemio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
