The supporters of River Plate booed when Amaná AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteve Romero didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, River Plate's Yader Rubial got control of the ball when Feliciano Pedroso tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 19 minutes of play, River Plate's Amancio Gelacio made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Filomeno Paulin was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Amaná AFC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Esteve Romero hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Domingo Espiridion's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yader Rubial was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amancio Gelacio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Leandro Horado might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Filomeno Paulin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 83rd minute Feliciano Pedroso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yader Rubial saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Feliciano Pedroso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Javier Hulberto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Yader Rubial tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
