Tupungato FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernesto Perutxo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Cepeda defense, Severino Sendoa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leonel Lohitzun. The Cepeda fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leonel Lohitzun should have stopped the shot. Rolando Estebe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolas Boni in the 22nd minute of play. When Dionisio Tano came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Tupungato FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dionisio Tano couldn't finish the play. Tupungato FC's Rolando Estebe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Boni in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute Augusto Beat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Estebe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Augusto Beat notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Tupungato FC's Rolando Estebe. Rolando Estebe was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Nicolas Boni's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rolando Estebe was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Tupungato FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eriberto Milio ran over to the corner to take the kick. The Tupungato FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cepeda were winning 1-2.

Leonel Lohitzun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Perutxo, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. A collision led to Cepeda getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Clodoveo Aguirre hit a great ball. Rolando Estebe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicolas Boni's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Ernesto Perutxo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonel Lohitzun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severino Sendoa's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Augusto Beat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dionisio Tano's late challenge caught a Cepeda's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tupungato FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
