Matias Chorche blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Inocencio Benino having to make a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Celedonio Frutos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lino Castulo. That made the score 1-1 in the 42 minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Simon Marino made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Gavino Lander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lino Castulo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Inocencio Benino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rodolfo Bertin's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute.
