The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Anacleto Perico made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edgardo Urtungo in the 3rd minute. Tomás Paio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Cesar Piearres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Evaristo Hitzeder kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. If Tomás Paio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Capivara FC's Tomás Paio got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomás Paio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Cesar Piearres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anacleto Perico took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zeledon Unax, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the game, Wilfredo Eneas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cesar Piearres came out of the goal and Christian Sansone tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Jonatan Haritz fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Durazno's protests and gave Jonatan Haritz a yellow card for diving instead. Cesar Piearres didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Christian Sansone went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Tomás Paio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cesar Piearres having to make a save. Evaristo Hitzeder kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. A collision led to Durazno getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Flavio Lleir hit a great ball. After the first half Capivara FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zeledon Unax stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tomás Paio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cesar Piearres came out of the goal and Christian Sansone tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edgardo Urtungo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anacleto Perico having to interfere. Cesar Piearres made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomás Paio in the 68th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Baldomiro Roldanillo during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 75th minute, Baldomiro Roldanillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute Christian Sansone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesar Piearres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
