The supporters of Chilecito booed when Tambillos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dario Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Tambillos getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Oscar Rik hit a great ball. If Juan Eutropio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eriberto Javiero was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 23rd minute. Chilecito's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 24 minutes of play, Chilecito's Eriberto Javiero made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Sotero was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Eriberto Javiero got free with Julio Sotero in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 38th match minute, Chilecito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pascual Quinten to maneuver through the defense. In the 42ndth minute of the game Dario Fernandez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chilecito's Saturnino Odol was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Victoriano Sugoi hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. 46 minutes into the match, Tambillos's goalkeeper Julio Sotero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eriberto Javiero. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eriberto Javiero got free with Julio Sotero in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Juan Eutropio was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Dario Fernandez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 61st minute of the match Dionisio Salomon sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Saturnino Odol skillfully saved the ball. In the 65th minute Juan Eutropio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Sotero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Tambillos's Dario Fernandez in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chilecito's goalie prevented a goal. Victoriano Sugoi's late challenge caught a Chilecito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Victoriano Sugoi helped the player get up and apologised. In the 68th minute, Victoriano Sugoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tambillos's Julio Sotero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eriberto Javiero in the 70th minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Chilecito's goal looked a bit too open when Dario Fernandez came free, but Saturnino Odol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Tambillos's zone, Juan Eutropio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Sotero came out of the goal and Juan Eutropio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Eriberto Javiero came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Chilecito fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eriberto Javiero couldn't finish the play. Julio Sotero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eriberto Javiero, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 82nd minute, Juan Eutropio made a precise shot to the right of Julio Sotero. Tambillos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Tambillos's zone, Juan Eutropio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Sotero came out of the goal and Juan Eutropio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eriberto Javiero in the 91st minute of play forced Tambillos's goalkeeper Julio Sotero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dario Fernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Saturnino Odol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
