Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Zeledon Modestio started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When Sebastian Admon came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Araujo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Admon couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cipriano Clodio in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Santo Calixto saved Pearson from getting behind. 16 minutes into the game, Ladislao Eudoxio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Araujo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pearson the free kick. With a little luck, Araujo's Francisco Fero got control of the ball when Leo Frascuelo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Santo Calixto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano Clodio in the 23rd minute of play. After 27 minutes, Romulo Abel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Araujo and the Pearson players grew even worse after the yellow card. Romulo Abel hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Pearson's Zeledon Modestio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Francisco Fero narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sebastian Admon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Cipriano Clodio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Pearson defense, Cipriano Clodio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Santo Calixto. The Pearson fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Santo Calixto should have stopped the shot. After the first half Araujo were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Cipriano Clodio made the kick off in the second half. When Aquilino Iraunkor came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Pearson fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aquilino Iraunkor couldn't finish the play. Leo Frascuelo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Fero having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Zeledon Modestio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pearson's supporters rose to their feet, but Zeledon Modestio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francisco Fero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 65 played minutes Araujo got a freekick which was hit by Gervasio Elorri. Santo Calixto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sebastian Admon went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Cipriano Clodio struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Santo Calixto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Araujo. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cipriano Clodio got free with Santo Calixto in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Araujo booed when Pearson was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aquilino Iraunkor didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Sebastian Admon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Araujo's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Admon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Santo Calixto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the game's 96th minute Araujo's Nereo Isias took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Santo Calixto and thus the score was 1-3. Araujo's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
