In the 11th minute of the match Emanuel Birjaio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Claudio Belo skillfully saved the ball. Urbano Chumo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Claudio Belo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Iguassu's Israel Rocendo in 19 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Claudio Belo guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Claudio Belo didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Iguassu's Benjamin Marcones shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. If Benjamin Marcones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Urbano Chumo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Israel Rocendo came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Iguassu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Israel Rocendo couldn't finish the play. Claudio Belo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Urbano Chumo, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. If Urbano Chumo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 37 minutes, Aldo Abar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Laguna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aldo Abar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Israel Rocendo in the 39th minute of play forced Laguna's goalkeeper Claudio Belo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Urbano Chumo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Claudio Belo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Iguassu's Israel Rocendo in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Laguna's goalie prevented a goal. After the first half Iguassu were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Israel Rocendo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Claudio Belo made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Urbano Chumo sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Israel Rocendo in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudio Belo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Natalio Berbiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jesus Gaztea in the 54th minute of play. Iguassu's Natalio Berbiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sixto Chorche in the 61st minute of play. Natalio Berbiz came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Laguna's Aldo Abar. But to his dismay, Aldo Abar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Urbano Chumo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Israel Rocendo in the 70th minute of play forced Laguna's goalkeeper Claudio Belo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Laguna booed when Iguassu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artemio Rius didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 77th minute, Marcial Chabier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Urbano Chumo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Claudio Belo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 80 minutes into the game, Iguassu's Urbano Chumo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Claudio Belo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Israel Rocendo struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Claudio Belo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Iguassu. In the 86th minute Urbano Chumo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudio Belo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jesus Gaztea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Iguassu had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
