Churqui's Reynaldo Osasun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogelio Santxol in the 7th minute of play. Alfredo Cebo was out of position in the 9 minute of play, and Epifanio Rosario capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Epifanio Rosario really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Eustaquio Matei's late challenge caught a Larligau FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eustaquio Matei helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Larligau FC booed when Churqui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustaquio Matei didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Churqui's zone, Justino Abaunza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reynaldo Osasun came out of the goal and Justino Abaunza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 20 played minutes Churqui got a freekick which was hit by Justo Panpili. Maximino Leoncio hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. If Epifanio Rosario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 41 minutes, Justino Abaunza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Larligau FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Justino Abaunza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Justino Abaunza in the 45th minute of play forced Churqui's goalkeeper Reynaldo Osasun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Epifanio Rosario to make the kick off. If Anselmo Roano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The attack was good, but when Epifanio Rosario in the 58th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Rogelio Santxol struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Reynaldo Osasun didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Larligau FC. Alfredo Cebo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Epifanio Rosario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 74th minute of the game. One of Churqui:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Larligau FC:s goal. When the match had been going on for 76 minutes, Larligau FC's Rigoberto Vigil got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Reynaldo Osasun. Justino Abaunza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Reynaldo Osasun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reynaldo Osasun made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Justino Abaunza sent off a good shot on target. Reynaldo Osasun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rogelio Santxol's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
