The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Justino Abaunza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Gavino Vermudo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 11 played minutes Larligau FC got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Chap. 12 minutes into the match, Irene's Eloy Gaitano broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 18 minutes into the match, Rogelio Santxol had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gavino Vermudo. Irene's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rogelio Santxol was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Rogelio Santxol struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Gavino Vermudo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Larligau FC. Irene's Gavino Vermudo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogelio Santxol in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute Virgilio Baumer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Cebo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aristides Silbestre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Alfredo Cebo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, Larligau FC's goal looked a bit too open when Enzo Gaztea came free, but Alfredo Cebo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th match minute, Larligau FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Generoso Ciano to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a defensive mix-up in Larligau FC's zone, Virgilio Baumer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredo Cebo came out of the goal and Virgilio Baumer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gavino Vermudo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Justino Abaunza, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Justino Abaunza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gavino Vermudo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Virgilio Baumer did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-1 to the left of a surprised Alfredo Cebo 63 minutes into the match. Enzo Gazteas short, quick shot in the 68thth minute got Alfredo Cebo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gavino Vermudo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogelio Santxol, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. A collision led to Irene getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Aristides Silbestre hit a great ball. Rogelio Santxol succeeded in the game's 73rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-1. Gavino Vermudo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogelio Santxol in the 81st minute of play. Gavino Vermudo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogelio Santxol, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Irene's goalkeeper Gavino Vermudo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
