After 9 played minutes Manantiales AFC got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Barros. Apolo Gorbea blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Teo Dimas having to make a save. Damian Bernebe kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. After 15 played minutes Manantiales AFC got a freekick which was hit by Zeledon Santiago. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Rancul AFC's goalkeeper Carlos Sugar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Rancul AFC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Roque Oso hit a great ball. Zeledon Santiago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Carlos Sugar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Rancul AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Zeledon Santiago came free, but Carlos Sugar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Sugar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leopoldo Barros in the 34th minute of the match. In the 36th minute, Anastasio Rio made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Sugar. Rancul AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leopoldo Barros during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 46th minute, Zeledon Santiago got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zeledon Santiago was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Manantiales AFC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Ambrosio Magdaleno hit a great ball. Apolo Gorbea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute, Rancul AFC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Anastasio Rio fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With a little luck, Rancul AFC's Carlos Sugar got control of the ball when Anastasio Rio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Apolo Gorbea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teo Dimas having to interfere. Delmar Hondo kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zeledon Santiago in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Sugar saved Rancul AFC from getting behind. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Rancul AFC's goalkeeper Carlos Sugar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Damian Bernebe fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rancul AFC's protests and gave Damian Bernebe a yellow card for diving instead. Damian Bernebe hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 80th minute, Zeledon Santiago fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Carlos Sugar, passed just outside the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zeledon Santiago in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Sugar saved Rancul AFC from getting behind. When Zeledon Santiago came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Manantiales AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zeledon Santiago couldn't finish the play. Zeledon Santiago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Sugar having to interfere. Manantiales AFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
