Saul Eutor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jose Garaona got free with Hipolito Policarpio in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eloy Tonete kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. After 11 minutes, Julian Ekialde mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Catriel FC and the Candelaria players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th match minute, Catriel FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julian Ekialde to maneuver through the defense. Hipolito Policarpio made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Jose Garaona sent off a good shot on target. Hipolito Policarpio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saul Eutor in the 19th minute of the match. Hipolito Policarpio came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Candelaria's Jose Garaona. But to his dismay, Jose Garaona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Ekialde in the 39th minute of play forced Candelaria's goalkeeper Aurelio Marz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saul Eutor struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Hipolito Policarpio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Candelaria. If Saul Eutor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Ekialde to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aquilino Leheren during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 54 minutes into the match, Catriel FC's Amadeo Tabor broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Candelaria's Aurelio Marz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Ekialde in the 58th minute of play. In the 59th minute, Ezequiel Pelayo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Candelaria getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Hugo Ruy hit a great ball. A collision led to Candelaria getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Aquilino Leheren hit a great ball. Aurelio Marz acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 64th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Jimeno Urtsin. Aurelio Marz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Ekialde's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. When Baldomiro Edur fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Candelaria's protests and gave Baldomiro Edur a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Candelaria getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Baldomiro Edur hit a great ball. If Julian Ekialde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 72 played minutes Catriel FC got a freekick which was hit by Feliberto Maule. A collision led to Catriel FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Santo Garaona hit a great ball. Saul Eutor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ezequiel Pelayo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Aurelio Marz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hipolito Policarpio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saul Eutor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Catriel FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Candelaria.
