The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 16th minute Albino Hegoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victoriano Laurentzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 18 minutes, Higinio Froila mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hinojo FC and the Ballesteros FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 18th minute, Higinio Froila hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ballesteros FC's Rodolfo Olayo couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 18th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Hinojo FC. Antonio Lehoi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Victoriano Laurentzi made a huge save. 21 minutes into the match, Hinojo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Albino Hegoi came free, but Victoriano Laurentzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Victoriano Laurentzi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antonio Lehoi in the 25th minute. Victoriano Laurentzi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albino Hegoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ballesteros FC's Antonio Lehoi got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Tomás Nuno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Federico Elorri made the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the game, Anier Bero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hinojo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ballesteros FC the free kick. After 59 played minutes Hinojo FC got a freekick which was hit by Anier Bero. Arnoldo Frutos was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tomás Nuno showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 63 minute of play. Tomás Nuno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnoldo Frutos having to interfere.
