In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Devoto AFC's goalkeeper Damian Francis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aldo Gaztea made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Aldo Gaztea's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Damian Francis was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. When Jacobo Costante came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Devoto AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacobo Costante couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Lipeo FC's zone, Paulino Urki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruben Sadurni came out of the goal and Paulino Urki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lipeo FC's Ruben Sadurni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulino Urki in the 63rd minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Jacobo Costante had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ruben Sadurni. Lipeo FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jacobo Costante was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Aldo Gaztea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lipeo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Aldo Gaztea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Damian Francis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Melquiades Rudolfo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
