The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Lázaro Eguen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Epifanio Erasto in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gervasio Hotz saved Colón AFC from getting behind. Colón AFC's Gervasio Hotz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lázaro Eguen in the 12th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lázaro Eguen in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gervasio Hotz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 16th minute, Albino Maria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Rigoberto Fe fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Colón AFC's protests and gave Rigoberto Fe a yellow card for diving instead. In the 20th match minute, Colón AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Fe to maneuver through the defense. Gervasio Hotz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lázaro Eguen in the 25th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gregorio Orlan during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Colón AFC booed when Palmar AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gregorio Orlan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Colón AFC's zone, Lázaro Eguen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gervasio Hotz came out of the goal and Lázaro Eguen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 38th minute, Palmar AFC's Eulalio Erroman seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Eulalio Erroman the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Palmar AFC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Eulalio Erroman had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 37th minute, one of Palmar AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Palmar AFC. Palmar AFC:s Eugenio Tallia showed great skill when he stopped Isaac Romano:s penalty. Eugenio Tallia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Isaac Romano went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Palmar AFC's zone, Elias Jurgi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eugenio Tallia came out of the goal and Elias Jurgi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Eugenio Tallia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fausto Fero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Epifanio Erasto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Gervasio Hotz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fausto Fero struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Eugenio Tallia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colón AFC. After a defensive mix-up in Palmar AFC's zone, Elias Jurgi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eugenio Tallia came out of the goal and Elias Jurgi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 68th match minute, Colón AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maximo Eate to maneuver through the defense. Eugenio Tallia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elias Jurgi in the 71st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Epifanio Erasto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palmar AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Epifanio Erasto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gervasio Hotz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Palmar AFC's Albino Maria pulled a muscle in his back after 73 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Jeremias Duardo's late challenge caught a Palmar AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jeremias Duardo helped the player get up and apologised. After 74 played minutes Colón AFC got a freekick which was hit by Jeremias Duardo. Fausto Fero struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Eugenio Tallia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colón AFC. If Elias Jurgi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Jurgi in the 95th minute of play forced Palmar AFC's goalkeeper Eugenio Tallia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Colón AFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
