When the match had been going on for 34 minutes, Amberes AFC's Melchor Distiratsu got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ildefonso Brais. Arnoldo Orlondo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Urtsua having to interfere. Miguel Urtsua made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnoldo Orlondo in the 40th minute of play. Arnoldo Orlondo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Miguel Urtsua tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute Arnoldo Orlondo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Urtsua saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arnoldo Orlondo made a kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Amberes AFC's goalkeeper Miguel Urtsua had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Norberto Silban. Ildefonso Brais dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Norberto Silban received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Miguel Urtsua tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 87 minutes of play, Amberes AFC's Hermengildo Jerrald made it 5-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ildefonso Brais was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermengildo Jerrald in the 93rd minute of play forced Fighiera's goalkeeper Ildefonso Brais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Many of Fighiera's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Fighiera may have spent more time on the ball, but Amberes AFC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
