After 3 minutes, Lino Dalmu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Monsalvo and the Potrerillos players grew even worse after the yellow card. Monsalvo:s Simon Domingues showed great skill when he stopped Jairo Atarratze:s penalty. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isaac Oihenarte got free with Higinio Quiroga in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Ceferino Guillerme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 10 played minutes Potrerillos got a freekick which was hit by Bartolo Gai. Higinio Quiroga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ceferino Guillerme in the 11th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anacleto Benvide in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Simon Domingues prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Froilan Tano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th match minute, Monsalvo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Braulio Abaurre to maneuver through the defense. Higinio Quiroga made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Isaac Oihenarte sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Potrerillos's zone, Isaac Oihenarte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Higinio Quiroga came out of the goal and Isaac Oihenarte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 44th match minute, Potrerillos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anier Oinatz to maneuver through the defense. When Isaac Oihenarte came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Monsalvo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Isaac Oihenarte couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ceferino Guillerme to strike the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Isaac Oihenarte put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Higinio Quiroga. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Monsalvo players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
