After a rather tough play, Monsalvo's Fernando Suero got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Delmar Henrico took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ceferino Guillerme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Ricardo Nahia fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Esperanza AFC's protests and gave Ricardo Nahia a yellow card for diving instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Ceferino Guillerme managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monsalvo's supporters rose to their feet, but Ceferino Guillerme was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Delmar Henrico breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 10th minute Ceferino Guillerme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delmar Henrico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Isaac Oihenarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Delmar Henrico showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ceferino Guillerme, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After 13 played minutes Monsalvo got a freekick which was hit by Braulio Abaurre. 16 minutes into the match, Monsalvo's goalkeeper Simon Domingues had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicanor Gombal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ceferino Guillerme in the 18th minute of play forced Esperanza AFC's goalkeeper Delmar Henrico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 29 played minutes Monsalvo got a freekick which was hit by Ceferino Guillerme. Emilio Hori hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Monsalvo's Simon Domingues proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Monsalvo from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teodosio Txaran during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 41st minute of the match Jeronimo Quintin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Delmar Henrico skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Dalmu in the 43rd minute of play forced Monsalvo's goalkeeper Simon Domingues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicanor Gombal got free with Simon Domingues in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Nicanor Gombal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Simon Domingues read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. The supporters of Monsalvo booed when Esperanza AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodosio Txaran didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ceferino Guillerme in the 69th minute of play forced Esperanza AFC's goalkeeper Delmar Henrico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Dalmu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Simon Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Braulio Abaurre charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Braulio Abaurre the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Esperanza AFC booed when Monsalvo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Braulio Abaurre didn't get a good kick on the ball. Delmar Henrico was out of position in the 93 minute of play, and Ceferino Guillerme capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ceferino Guillerme really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. If Ceferino Guillerme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Monsalvo walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
