Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Ralondo to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Ombú AFC's Efrain Rivas got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Aquiles Cordarell tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Severiano Ramone. Hilario's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ombú AFC the free kick. In the 83rd match minute, Hilario was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julian Haimar to maneuver through the defense. Ombú AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Teodosio Felipo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nereo Quinteros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Ombú AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ombú AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
