Arsenio Pirmin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerardo Osmundo having to interfere. Tiburcio Burni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Marcelino Ekhi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Florentino Santiago hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Marcelino Ekhi was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Florencio Pacho. Tiburcio Burni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelino Ekhi having to interfere. In the 23rd minute Aureliano Gorri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerardo Osmundo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rosario AFC's Tiburcio Burni got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tiburcio Burni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Marcelino Ekhi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcelino Ekhi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eleuterio Gonchan in the 30th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tiburcio Burni got free with Marcelino Ekhi in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 35th minute Geronimo Euloxu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelino Ekhi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37th minute, Tiburcio Burni got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Florentino Santiago charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Florentino Santiago the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Chapaleofú's zone, Geronimo Euloxu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelino Ekhi came out of the goal and Geronimo Euloxu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 47 minutes into the game, Gilberto Henry was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rosario AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chapaleofú the free kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The audience was convinced that Tiburcio Burni's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelino Ekhi was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Jonas Semeno blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gerardo Osmundo having to make a save. If Geronimo Euloxu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rosario AFC's Gerardo Osmundo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Rosario AFC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Rosario AFC booed when Chapaleofú was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florentino Santiago didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tiburcio Burni struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Marcelino Ekhi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rosario AFC. 87 minutes into the match, Aureliano Gorri had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gerardo Osmundo. Rosario AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aureliano Gorri was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After having played for 92 minutes, Geronimo Euloxu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rosario AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geronimo Euloxu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Aureliano Gorri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Chapaleofú supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chapaleofú would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
