Cieneguita FC's Modesto Columbo got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aristides Segio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benito Bertin in the 6th minute of the match. In the 9th of the match, Benito Bertin tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Aristides Segio got in the way and made a wonderful save. In the 10th match minute, Palmitas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lino Guilabertus to maneuver through the defense. If Benito Bertin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 13 minutes, Lino Guilabertus mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palmitas and the Cieneguita FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Palmitas's Lino Guilabertus got a free kick in the 13th minute. Filiberto Maria took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 14th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aristides Segio. Palmitas's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Modesto Columbo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Aristides Segio made a huge save. In the 26th match minute, Cieneguita FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filiberto Maria to maneuver through the defense. After 27 played minutes Cieneguita FC got a freekick which was hit by Modesto Columbo. Benigno Eleazar struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Ovidio Ferrer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmitas. Daniel Criston charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Daniel Criston the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 32 played minutes Cieneguita FC got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Criston. After having played for 33 minutes, Celestino Venceslao managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palmitas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celestino Venceslao was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristo Iztal's late challenge caught a Cieneguita FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristo Iztal helped the player get up and apologised. Cristo Iztal hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Filiberto Maria from long distance, 36 minutes into the match, got Aristides Segio's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 38 played minutes Cieneguita FC got a freekick which was hit by Luis Urko. Ovidio Ferrer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celestino Venceslao in the 42nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Modesto Columbo got free with Aristides Segio in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 48th minute, German Gar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Benito Bertin to strike the kick off in the second half. Lino Guilabertus kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Benito Bertin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cieneguita FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Benito Bertin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aristides Segio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Benito Bertin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The goalkeeper, Ovidio Ferrer, was totally fooled by Palmitas's Lucas Gomesano, who 65 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When Cieneguita FC's Modesto Columbo in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Palmitas's goalie prevented a goal. In the 70th minute Celestino Venceslao shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidio Ferrer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Benigno Eleazar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Celestino Venceslao received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ovidio Ferrer came out and tried to block the shot, but Celestino Venceslao slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 73rd minute. Celestino Venceslao sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jacobo Astudillo during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Palmitas's Jacobo Astudillo got a free kick in the 88th minute. If Benito Bertin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Modesto Columbo in the 91st minute of play forced Palmitas's goalkeeper Aristides Segio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Modesto Columbo notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Palmitas's Aristides Segio. Aristides Segio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Palmitas's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
