Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Salvador Lon took the kick off in the first half of the match. Cafayate's Esteve Fero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnoldo Baumer in the 11th minute of play. Maipú's Gabriel Playo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Maipú from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnoldo Baumer in the 16th minute of play forced Cafayate's goalkeeper Esteve Fero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Salvador Lon took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Esteve Fero. Esteve Fero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 21st minute Danilo Eguerdi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Playo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 21 played minutes Maipú got a freekick which was hit by Marcial Santiago. Danilo Eguerdi scored 1-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gabriel Playo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gabriel Playo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddy Celipe in the 30th minute of play. Marcial Santiago's late challenge caught a Cafayate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcial Santiago helped the player get up and apologised. In the 35th match minute, Maipú was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcial Santiago to maneuver through the defense. Freddy Celipe might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gabriel Playo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Freddy Celipe ran back to his position shaking his head. Angel Austin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Gabriel Playo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Esteve Fero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnoldo Baumer in the 43rd minute of the match. A collision led to Cafayate getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Romeo Llorenc hit a great ball. In the 49th minute of the match Humberto Raulo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Esteve Fero skillfully saved the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Freddy Celipe to make the kick off. The supporters of Cafayate booed when Maipú was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lázaro Pierres didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 77 minutes, Orlando Hustaz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maipú and the Cafayate players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 76 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Maipú! Salvador Lon struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Esteve Fero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maipú. If Danilo Eguerdi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gabriel Playo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danilo Eguerdi in the 94th minute of the match. After 95 minutes of play Maipú's Orlando Hustaz was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Maipú's Orlando Hustaz got a free kick in the 96th minute. Danilo Eguerdi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Gabriel Playo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cafayate were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Maipú for a fine match.
