The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Mateo Cordarell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Retamal FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mateo Cordarell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nestor Erroman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 12 minutes into the match, Palomitas's Jonas Frasquito sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tobias Vachon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Palomitas's Jonas Frasquito got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonas Frasquito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tobias Vachon having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mateo Cordarell in the 25th minute of play forced Palomitas's goalkeeper Nestor Erroman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ricardo Hanot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tobias Vachon having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Hanot in the 30th minute of play forced Retamal FC's goalkeeper Tobias Vachon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Jonas Frasquito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute, Mateo Cordarell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Retamal FC booed when Palomitas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erubiel Cilio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mateo Cordarell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Erroman having to interfere. In the 40th minute, one of Palomitas:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Palomitas. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mateo Cordarell stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes Palomitas got a freekick which was hit by Ramiro Haritzeder. When Carolo Galeno fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palomitas's protests and gave Carolo Galeno a yellow card for diving instead. In the 62nd minute of the match Prudencio Lawrence sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nestor Erroman skillfully saved the ball. Jonas Frasquito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tobias Vachon having to interfere. Nicolas Reynardo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Flavio Nastasio kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Nestor Erroman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mateo Cordarell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 74 minutes into the match, Palomitas's goal looked a bit too open when Mateo Cordarell came free, but Nestor Erroman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jonas Frasquito fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palomitas's protests and gave Jonas Frasquito a yellow card for diving instead. After 82 played minutes Palomitas got a freekick which was hit by Jonas Frasquito. After a rather tough play, Retamal FC's Flavio Nastasio got a free kick in the 88th minute. Retamal FC's Tobias Vachon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Retamal FC from getting a goal against them. The Retamal FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
