The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Humberto Ferdinand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. Arsenio Balendin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 12th minute Romulo Tiniebra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arsenio Balendin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Joel Cai managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salguero AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Cai was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Moises Sazon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 1-1 became the score in the 17th minute when Humberto Ferdinand elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Romulo Tiniebra struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Arsenio Balendin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Burmeister AFC. 22 minutes into the match, Burmeister AFC's Arnulfo Uzuri sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arsenio Balendin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Cai in the 36th minute of play forced Burmeister AFC's goalkeeper Moises Sazon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arsenio Balendin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnulfo Uzuri, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 44 minutes into the match, Humberto Ferdinand dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Moises Sazon, 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The wind increased when Joel Cai made the kick off in the second half. Amado Ekain charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amado Ekain the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Burmeister AFC's Amado Ekain got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Burmeister AFC's goalkeeper Moises Sazon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Romulo Tiniebra came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Burmeister AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romulo Tiniebra couldn't finish the play. After 57 minutes, Jeronimo Lehen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Burmeister AFC and the Salguero AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 57th match minute, Burmeister AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeronimo Lehen to maneuver through the defense. Burmeister AFC's Moises Sazon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Cai in the 61st minute of play. When Jeronimo Lehen was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 62 minutes had been played. 62 minutes into the game, one of Burmeister AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Salguero AFC a penalty, 65 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Enrique Cordera, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Burmeister AFC's Moises Sazon. 3-1. Amado Ekain kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Moises Sazon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Ferdinand in the 73rd minute of play. In the 74th match minute, Burmeister AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodosio Vidal to maneuver through the defense. 78 minutes into the game, Humberto Ferdinand cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Moises Sazon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 82 minutes, Victoriano Gomesano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Salguero AFC and the Burmeister AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Victoriano Gomesano hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Moises Sazon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joel Cai's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. After 92 minutes of play Burmeister AFC's Amado Ekain was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 92nd match minute, Burmeister AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amado Ekain to maneuver through the defense. Humberto Ferdinand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
