After recieving a nice pass, Palermo's Camilo Amaya tried to score from far away in the 4th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Santiago Restu in the 7thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Eusebio Froila, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ricardo Valery in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eusebio Froila saved Palermo from getting behind. Damaso Matteo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Modesto Mingo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th minute, Damaso Matteo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Modesto Mingo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a rather tough play, Palermo's Mauro Arias got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 25th minute, Delmar Remir left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palermo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Santiago Restu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Eusebio Froila tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Damaso Matteo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute, Andres Clementi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Damaso Matteo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Palermo were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ricardo Valery to make the kick off. Cirilo Guilabertus hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 57th minute, Camilo Amaya sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sampacho's Modesto Mingo didn't even have to move. If Ricardo Valery had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricardo Valery succeeded in the game's 62nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. In the 67th minute Ricardo Valery shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusebio Froila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 68 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sampacho! In the 69th minute there was a penalty for Palermo. Camilo Amaya stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Modesto Mingo. 1-3. A collision led to Sampacho getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Freddy Eleazar hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Damaso Matteo in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Modesto Mingo saved Sampacho from getting behind. Eusebio Froila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santiago Restu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Delmar Remir fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 100th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Modesto Mingo having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Palermo eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
