Match Report

Estadio Guanaco
Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0)
The mood of the audience was pleasant when Genaro Abella made the kick off which started today's match. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Joel Domeka managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guanaco's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Domeka was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabricio Amato breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Gregorio Espiridion fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guanaco's protests and gave Gregorio Espiridion a yellow card for diving instead. Esquiú's Genaro Abella got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Esquiú's Modesto Vellito in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Guanaco's goalie prevented a goal. Modesto Vellito scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Maximo Abeita, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 13 minutes into the match, Esquiú's goalkeeper Fabricio Amato had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joel Domeka. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guanaco's goalkeeper Maximo Abeita, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 23 minutes of play, Esquiú's Modesto Vellito made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maximo Abeita was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Modesto Vellito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Genaro Abella received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Maximo Abeita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maximo Abeita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Modesto Vellito in the 33rd minute of play. When Genaro Abella came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Esquiú fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Genaro Abella couldn't finish the play. During the 37th minute of the match Gregorio Espiridion completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Gregorio Espiridion a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Gregorio Espiridion hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. 40 minutes into the game, Carlos Urtungo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guanaco's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Esquiú the free kick. After 41 played minutes Guanaco got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Urtungo. Joel Domeka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 45 played minutes Esquiú got a freekick which was hit by Genaro Abella. The Guanaco players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Esquiú were winning 0-2.

The wind increased when Joel Domeka made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Esquiú booed when Guanaco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gervasio Nuxila didn't get a good kick on the ball. Esquiú's Fabricio Amato played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Domeka in the 67th minute of play. Joel Domeka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 73 minutes into the game, Joel Domeka cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Fabricio Amato was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Guanaco's zone, Modesto Vellito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maximo Abeita came out of the goal and Modesto Vellito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Modesto Vellito got free with Maximo Abeita in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Modesto Vellito could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Maximo Abeita made a huge save. In the 95th minute, Celedonio Chus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Guanaco fans cheered their team off the field, for while Esquiú had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
