Lorenzo Edur's late challenge caught a Achicó's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lorenzo Edur helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Bañado's Lorenzo Edur got a free kick in the 4th minute. Achicó's Ermegildo Pitin got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 11th minute, Gilberto Bernabel had to leave the field with a concussion. The supporters of Achicó booed when Bañado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gualterio Rufio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ermegildo Pitin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mariano Birila kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. If Ermegildo Pitin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Camilo Honrio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ermegildo Pitin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 28 minutes, Alonzo Alvarez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bañado and the Achicó players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 28 played minutes Bañado got a freekick which was hit by Alonzo Alvarez. If Ermegildo Pitin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute, Gogo Cordeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 32 minutes, Alonzo Alvarez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bañado's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alonzo Alvarez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ermegildo Pitin came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Achicó fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ermegildo Pitin couldn't finish the play. Camilo Honrio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gogo Cordeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 39 minutes into the game, Luciano Pacifico was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bañado's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Achicó the free kick. In the 39th minute, Luciano Pacifico hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Marcones in the 40th minute of play forced Bañado's goalkeeper Camilo Honrio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ermegildo Pitin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camilo Honrio having to interfere.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Baltasar Dunixi to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Alonzo Alvarez notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Achicó's Bartolo Edwardo. Bartolo Edwardo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 59 minutes into the game, Humberto Marcones was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Achicó's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bañado the free kick. In the 59th match minute, Achicó was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Humberto Marcones to maneuver through the defense. After 60 played minutes, Bañado's Gualterio Baldovino shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bartolo Edwardo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bañado reached it. 65 minutes into the match, Achicó's goal looked a bit too open when Alonzo Alvarez came free, but Bartolo Edwardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristobal Vitin kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Alonzo Alvarez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bañado's goalkeeper Camilo Honrio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 72nd minute, Gogo Cordeiro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Camilo Honrio. The goal made the score 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aldo Marino in the 75th minute of play forced Achicó's goalkeeper Bartolo Edwardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alonzo Alvarez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Bartolo Edwardo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alonzo Alvarez might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bartolo Edwardo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alonzo Alvarez ran back to his position shaking his head. Baltasar Dunixi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bartolo Edwardo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. When Alonzo Alvarez was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 89 minutes had been played. After 90 played minutes Bañado got a freekick which was hit by Alonzo Alvarez. A hard shot 93 in the game by Ermegildo Pitin from a close distance when the talented Camilo Honrio managed to make a qualified save. Bañado's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, Bañado's Lorenzo Edur got a free kick in the 96th minute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
