After a defensive mix-up in Matansilla AFC's zone, Victoriano Gaxan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gaspar Berto got free with Denis Criston in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Placido Loramendi kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After having played for 30 minutes, Victoriano Gaxan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hortensia FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victoriano Gaxan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eulalio Tohias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Venancio Venceslao having to interfere. With a little luck, Hortensia FC's Denis Criston got control of the ball when Gaspar Berto tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eulalio Tohias in the 39th minute of play forced Matansilla AFC's goalkeeper Venancio Venceslao to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Hortensia FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
