After 3 played minutes Esquina got a freekick which was hit by Sixto Quinteros. Adolfo Kaxen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Esquina's goalkeeper Pastor Martxel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Adolfo Kaxen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rogelio Firmo was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Plátanos AFC's Rogelio Firmo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Kaxen in the 21st minute of play. 22 minutes into the game, Cipriano Pacifico was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Plátanos AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Esquina the free kick. A collision led to Plátanos AFC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Cipriano Pacifico hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Esquina's Jacobo Argider got a free kick in the 26th minute. Julio Ramirez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pastor Martxel having to interfere. In the 35th minute of the match Antonio Kemen sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pastor Martxel skillfully saved the ball. Esquina's Pastor Martxel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio Ramirez in the 36th minute of play. Cipriano Pacifico hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Esquina's Santos Mendebal tried to score from far away in the 42nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Plátanos AFC's Rogelio Firmo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Kaxen in the 46th minute of play. Adolfo Kaxen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Baltasar Fagondo made a kick off. After having played for 56 minutes, Baltasar Fagondo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esquina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baltasar Fagondo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rogelio Firmo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baltasar Fagondo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Plátanos AFC's Cipriano Pacifico got a free kick in the 58th minute. Baltasar Fagondo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rogelio Firmo came out and tried to block the shot, but Baltasar Fagondo slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 60th minute. In the 66th minute Julio Ramirez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pastor Martxel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adolfo Kaxen who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of Rogelio Firmo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Baltasar Fagondo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogelio Firmo having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adolfo Kaxen got free with Rogelio Firmo in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Baltasar Fagondo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Plátanos AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 86th minute, when Baltasar Fagondo scored to the left of an out of position Rogelio Firmo, making the score, 0-2. Adolfo Kaxen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogelio Firmo having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Baltasar Fagondo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Esquina's supporters rose to their feet, but Baltasar Fagondo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rogelio Firmo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Esquina getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Jonatan Eladio hit a great ball. Esquina's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
