Rogelio Oliviero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lorenzo Johans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lorenzo Johans in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rogelio Oliviero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as Cerrito's Primitivo Berbiz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alonzo Bartoleme. That made the score 2-0 after 21 minutes of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hipolito Polentzi during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Cerrito booed when Temperley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hipolito Polentzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Cerrito's Atilano Guillen tried to score from far away in the 30th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Alonzo Bartoleme made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jairo Ulizes in the 40th minute. Maximino Cibran charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maximino Cibran the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lorenzo Johans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Primitivo Berbiz was the one to do the kick off.
