Carreras's supporters rose to their feet, but German Cordera was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The coaching staff of Butacó protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Eulalio Tolino had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee gave Carreras a penalty, 77 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Teobaldo Incendio, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Butacó's Angel Hitzeder. 1-1. If Tiburcio Bizi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
