Americo Ibar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elvio Enaut read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. Cerrito's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Americo Ibar 12 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. The supporters of Espigas FC booed when Cerrito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Sansone didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Israel Esdras managed to get in a good position for a shot. Espigas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Israel Esdras was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elvio Enaut breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Espigas FC's Vicente Millrick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudio Peio in the 43rd minute of play. Claudio Peio got in the 45th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Vicente Millrick handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Cerrito's Gogo Harri got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Americo Ibar to make the kick off. The supporters of Espigas FC booed when Cerrito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Sansone didn't get a good kick on the ball. Claudio Peio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vicente Millrick made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claudio Peio in the 77th minute. Claudio Peio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gogo Harri in the 81st minute of play forced Espigas FC's goalkeeper Vicente Millrick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Americo Ibar fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Espigas FC's protests and gave Americo Ibar a yellow card for diving instead. Israel Esdras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elvio Enaut having to interfere. Baldomiro Semeno kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
