In the 38th minute, German Arias sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Médano FC's Baldomiro Abreu didn't even have to move. When Rolando Figueroa fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Calaza FC's protests and gave Rolando Figueroa a yellow card for diving instead. After 47 played minutes Calaza FC got a freekick which was hit by Rolando Figueroa. Godfredo Jokin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 49th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Moises Beturian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 65 minutes, Anastasio Maurin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Calaza FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anastasio Maurin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 68 minutes into the match, Calaza FC's goal looked a bit too open when Godfredo Jokin came free, but Moises Beturian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Esteve Sazon charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Amado Policarpio might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Baldomiro Abreu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amado Policarpio ran back to his position shaking his head. The Médano FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Médano FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
