Gerardo Mouricio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Siro Tomi in the 7th minute of play. Mattaldi's Gerardo Mouricio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Siro Tomi in the 10th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Mattaldi's Cesar Llorenc sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Virgilio Feliu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Saturnino Niguel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cesar Llorenc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgilio Feliu having to interfere. A collision led to Matancilla getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Rolando Cordara hit a great ball. If Cesar Llorenc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Saturnino Niguel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Virgilio Feliu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Matancilla's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Saturnino Niguel scored to the left of an out of position Virgilio Feliu, making the score, 1-0. Ceferino Thomas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Gerardo Mouricio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Siro Tomi was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Matancilla's Siro Tomi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gerardo Mouricio. That made the score 1-1 after 53 minutes of play. Virgilio Feliu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saturnino Niguel in the 57th minute of play. Ceferino Thomas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Gerardo Mouricio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Mattaldi's zone, Siro Tomi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerardo Mouricio came out of the goal and Siro Tomi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Virgilio Feliu came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Mattaldi's Saturnino Niguel. But to his dismay, Saturnino Niguel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Siro Tomi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerardo Mouricio having to interfere. Gerardo Mouricio acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 76th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Vicente Elequemedo. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mattaldi fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 78th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 80 minutes, Matancilla's Victorio Jorrin got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Gerardo Mouricio. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mattaldi's goalkeeper Gerardo Mouricio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 89th minute Cesar Llorenc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgilio Feliu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ceferino Thomas scored 2-3 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gerardo Mouricio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 100th minute of the match Victorio Jorrin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gerardo Mouricio skillfully saved the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Matancilla eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
