Barreal's Orlando Maurino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ermegildo Efren in the 13th minute of play. After some careless play in the Barreal defense, Rodolfo Jokin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Orlando Maurino. The Barreal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Orlando Maurino should have stopped the shot. 19 minutes into the match, Clarke FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquin Hodei came free, but Domingos Cresitobalo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Barreal getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. David Modestio hit a great ball. Domingos Cresitobalo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Celedonio Veronica in the 24th minute. Celedonio Veronica fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domingos Cresitobalo having to interfere. Sixto Chano struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Orlando Maurino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Clarke FC. If Ermegildo Efren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute, Clarke FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Celedonio Veronica fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquin Hodei in the 41st minute of play forced Clarke FC's goalkeeper Domingos Cresitobalo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgard Iraitz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Orlando Maurino having to make a save. Orlando Maurino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ermegildo Efren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Clarke FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Orlando Maurino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
